How do I add a place to the Wiki?

You must be logged in to add a new place to the Wiki.

On the Add A Place page, indicate the place type (building, object, site, or structure). More information about place types below.

There are two ways to indicate where a place is located. You can either add a street address (option 1) or place a marker on the map (option 2).

After you have submitted the place, you will go to a confirmation page. If the place you added has the same address as a place already on the Wiki, you will be prompted to either edit the existing place or confirm that the new place should be added in the Wiki under the same address.

There can be multiple places at the same address. This can occur when there is both an existing and a demolished building included on the Wiki for the same location. It can also occur if there are multiple historic resources, as a historic gate that is added as an object and a historic building on the same property.
